Tool Kit Depot partnered with Moustache Republic to refine their promotional experience, focusing on a critical part of the customer journey: gift selection. The goal was to ensure customers always know when they’ve unlocked a free gift, can see their options clearly, and can easily select the one they want - whether they’re in the mini cart, cart page, or checkout.

Previously, Tool Kit Depot’s promotions were generous but missed a key opportunity to delight the customer. While free items were added to the cart, the power of choice was absent. Customers couldn’t select their preferred gift, leading to a less personal and engaging experience. It was a functional system, but it didn’t reflect the customer-centric approach that defines the brand.
We put the choice back in their hands.
Moustache Republic developed a custom, end-to-end gift selection feature that integrates seamlessly into the BigCommerce checkout flow. Now, as soon as a customer qualifies for a promotion, they see the selectable gift options directly in the mini-cart and on the main cart page. If they proceed to checkout without choosing, a helpful prompt reminds them to go back and select their bonus. The entire process is smooth and intuitive, with the cart updating automatically. By transforming a passive giveaway into an active choice, we’ve made the promotional experience more engaging, satisfying, and effective.
